TV actor, Sameer Sharma who has acted in many popular TV shows from the likes of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki has allegedly committed suicide at his Mumbai house.
On Wednesday night, Sameer’s body was found hanging from the kitchen of his house in Neha CHS Building, which is situated at Ahinsa Marg in Malad West. While patrolling, the night watchman first discovered the body and informed the people who later called the police.
Looking at the body's condition, it's suspected that he died by suicide two days back, says the police. As of now, there’s been no suicide note found on the scene. The police have filed a case of accidental death and the body has been sent for autopsy.
"We have not found any suicide note at the spot. It seems to be a suicide case. It is suspected that he hanged himself two days back. We have sent the body for an autopsy," Malad police station's senior inspector George Fernandes said in a PTI report.
The actor was aged 40 when he took this drastic step. He suffered a major health issue a while back but has since recovered. He even got back to acting afterward. He was recently on a Star Plus show “Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke” where he played the role of ‘Shaurya Maheshwari’.
Sameer rented his residence at Malad Apartment in February of this year and used to live alone. Police are thoroughly searching his apartment for any evidence that could shine a light on his suicide. They will also look closely at his financials for any irregularities.
In his last social media post on Instagram, Sameer posted a picture of the sea on 29th July. After the suicide of SSR, he took to Instagram to talk about mental health. His post was captioned, “Read this if you cared about Sushant Singh Rajput.”
